Say hi to Bunny Egg, who just dropped by to hang out. Junior Egg seems pretty happy about this.

Crochet Easter Bunny Egg

The Easter Bunny Egg pattern is available at Ravelry and LoveCrafts.

It is up to you, if you want Bunny Egg to be a he or a she - OR - you can make one of each if you like.

Difficulty

The difficulty level is intermediate/advanced. The pattern has a few special stitches like BLO and Puff stitches. They are slightly modified for the pattern, but this is of course explained.

Size and Yarn

The Easter Egg will be around 6.5cm tall (2.6") if you work with a 2.5mm hook (US B1 - UK 13) and a semi-tight tension.

Use regular cotton yarn for amigurumi. Yardage should be around 170m/50gr (186y/1.76oz).

I tried Scheepjes Organicon (Ravelry link) and it was soft and lovely to work with. Even a bit thick and fluffy in the right way. However, it does get a little worn out if you have to frog it over and over trying to get the stitches right. Possibly also if you plan on using the Easter Bunny Egg as a toy.

So, I suggest using Scheepjes Cotton 8 or similar for your first egg and/or if you make a toy.
Colors could be:
  • #502 white
  • #710 grey
  • #649 soft coral (or #715 nude). Something light and pale is recommended.

Enjoy the pattern and Easter!

Thank you to Margie, who has been such a patient and positive tester and proofreader. She is a skilled and very active amigurumi maker. Check out Margie's Instagram

More minor changes might happen too. We'll see.

My latest pattern is now available. The hat and tube are square and are very light, despite the bumpy, fluffy look.

Picky Pillow. Supports you when you crochet or knit.
The Picky Pillow pattern is now available. The pillow is designed to support you when you crochet or knit - or just want to relax.

Picky Pillow. Supports you when you crochet or knit.

The Tunisian twisted stitch pattern is used and a full photo tutorial for this is included in the pattern, so all you have to know in advance, is the Tunisian simple stitch and how to do regular single crochet.

NOTICE

For a limited time only, the pattern is available at an INTRODUCTION PRICE.

...AND if you buy it now, then make sure you are logged in, as you should then automatically get access to updates. You might be happy about that later on... hint, hint.

Buy the Pattern

The pattern is available in English (US terms) from Ravelry and LoveCrafts. It is also available in Danish, where it is called 'Pernitten Pude'. Find the Danish version at LoveCrafts and Ravelry.

About the Pattern

As usual you get a pattern with lots of photos and guidance helping you out.

Cro-hook

The main part of the pillow is worked in rows back and forward. You will need a cro-hook / double-ended hook for this. With or without cable. This also means that the length of your cro-hook doesn't matter much, as you don't have to do a full forward pass before you start a return pass.

The Tunisian Twisted Stitch Pattern

Inner Pillow

In the pattern I suggest using an inner pillow. This is optional as the stitches are tight enough to hold the filling in. Personally I think and inner pillow gives you a more expensive-looking pillow, and it will of course also help the pillow stay in shape. So instructions for making an inner pillow are included. And it is NOT difficult to make one.

Adjustable

The pattern also includes instructions for adjusting the pillow size any way you want. So it can fit any inner pillow you have already or whatever you decide you need.

Testers

It has been quite a journey to make this pattern. No less than three testers have helped me out and once again, I'm surprised how much testing can improve a pattern. Thank you to Marjolein, Ewa, and Karen!

Here is a yarn bowl, that doesn't break, if it drops off the table. And you can make it yourself in whatever color you want :)

The yarn bowl has three slits at the top, which keeps your yarn in place. The bowl can be carried as a little bag and you can easily remove any yarn from the bowl without cutting the yarn. Due to it being felted, it is relatively heavy for its size, which helps it stay, where you want it.

The pattern can be purchased from LoveCrafts and Ravelry and includes:

Tunisian Crochet Hat Pattern - multisizes
I've had my beloved red ribbed hat for a while and I'm really happy about it.

The other day my 3½-year-old ran away with the hat and wouldn't return it. Later he asked if he could have one too - a red one! So the happy mom made one more red hat.

I didn't write the original pattern for small kids, but it can easily be adjusted.

Here is what to do.

Tunisian Crochet - Sideways Ribbed Hat YEAH! A new pattern has been released! It is a sideways hat. Made completely from the Top Stitch Rib pattern. I've nursed the top, so it is ribbed almost all the way to the top center.

You will find the pattern at LoveCrafts.

A tester said: "It's is a very lightweight feeling on my head when compared to a hat made in regular crochet stitches. And much stretchier. Just all-around more comfortable."

Crochet pattern Smiley Sun

A little Toy for Your Next Project?

Babies love smiley faces. This is a happy little sun that crackles when squeezed. The sun is loved by my 1½-year old girl as well as my 3-year old toddler. You can make it of leftover yarn.

It is perfect as a present for a baby shower. Make 3 of them and put them on a string and you have a stroller toy, the baby will love!

The Smiley Sun amigurumi pattern is currently available as part of a 3-piece package at LoveCrafts in Danish and English.

Or can be bought individually at Ravelry in both Languages.
